The #1 bestselling horror and sci-fi series with over 1,000 5-star reviews starts here with Yesterday’s Gone Season One.

They thought they were alone. They were wrong.

On October 15th, humanity went missing.

A handful of scattered survivors wake to find the world empty of friends, family, and neighbors.

Among them, a child searches for his family. A special agent turned enemy of the state survives a fiery plane crash with no way to reach his daughter. A serial killer discovers he’s no longer at the top of the food chain.

Now these strangers must find the strength inside them to weather the new world.

But they are not alone.

In the absence of civilization, a new threat emerges. In the stillness, it waits and watches, preying on their weakness. Their only hope is to find more survivors, rise above their fear, and face the oncoming darkness.

But can they unite before they too are lost? And can they all be trusted?

Season One of Yesterday’s Gone by Sean Platt and David W. Wright is a tense post-apocalyptic thriller that will leave you guessing to the end.

Combining TV’s thrilling, episodic nature with the in-depth character only found in novels, Yesterday’s Gone is a new wave in fiction. If you like The Stand and LOST, you’ll love this series that combines tension, intrigue, and fear of the unknown.

Every day I get an e-mail from Bookbub with deals on Kindle books. Of course I get plenty of sci fi and fantasy recommendations and have read quite a few of them (and have even more on my to-read list).

I’m a sucker for apocalyptic fiction, so when Yesterdays’ Gone popped up, I got it. But, as I was reading it, I was getting more and more freaked out. End-of-the-world stories are already scary enough, but this book was particularly frightening. I went back into Amazon to read the book description and noticed it is classified as sci fi AND HORROR.

What tipped me off were the people-eating monsters and stacks of corpses… Yeah, not exactly my cup of tea.

BUT! This book has me hooked! The writing isn’t great and some characters are real pieces of work and the horror is pretty dang scary (especially for a wuss like me), but I want to figure out the mystery!

Each chapter is told from a different person’s perspective. Each of them wake up to find themselves completely alone. All (or at least most) of the people in the world have vanished. As days go by, cars disappear. Areas where towns used to be are obliterated. Trees can “talk,” but only some people can hear them.

This book was advertised as a mix between LOST and The Stand, so it’s right up my alley (aside from the scary stuff, which makes it difficult to read sometimes).

Be warned: this book is part of a series. It was released episodically, so it’s split into 6 sections, each ending with a cliff hanger. Then the story continues… FOR SIX SEASONS.

Yesterday Gone Season One eBook Sean Platt David Wright Jason Whited Reviews

I didn't know what to expect when I began Yesterday's Gone. I'm an avid listener of the Self-Publishing Podcast (Dave and Sean make up 2/3 of the cast) for two years, so of course I've heard about the series (and Boricio!) for a few years. I got Season One from BookBub awhile back, and it sat in my . I finally started reading it last weekend and finished it in less than a week. I'm the type of person that won't even watch commercials for scary movies, but I wasn't scared or too disturbed by any of the scenes in this book. I think the authors did a good job of tempering the violent/scary moments with character development and world development (meaning, yes, this story stakes place on Earth, in America, but in dramatically different circumstances than what we're living in now). Also, I think they balanced the switching back and forth in between characters' POVs very well. At no time was I "away from" a particular character so long that I forgot what was happening with their story arc. Everything stayed fresh in my mind, which heightened the overall level of suspense. Yesterday's Gone, if done VERY WELL, would make an AWESOME TV show (if it were done by HBO, or JJ Abrams, or perhaps the Walking Dead people--someone that wouldn't screw it up and make it cheesy). I highly recommend this book, bought Season Two without hesitation, and dove in right away!
A unique and intriguing storyline that has you constantly churning possibilities in the back of your mind.

Extraordinarily ordinary characters that are in no way ordinary, or Extraordinary. ( you'll have to read the book and decide for yourself if that makes sense) The character building is natural and appropriate to the story and its world, nothing ever feels forced or gluttonous which as a reader, I appreciate immensely.

Platt and Wright have a gift, the gift of "pacing" Some authors race the reader through a story, with an "all action, all the time" attitude leaving the stench of an author's panic in the air, then there are authors that drag a bunch of nothing on endlessly, describing every branch of a flower or feather on a lizard...
Platt and Wright don't subject their readership to such horrors, they take you on a journey free of reality turbulence and banish boredom to lesser scribes. As they should.
Genre splicing seems to be another of their talents, a bit of sci-fi, a smidgen of horror, a dash of the paranormal and a sprinkle of mystery are just a few of the ingredients in this delicious and engaging entertainment recipe.
As a bonus, there are surprisingly few editorial mishaps.
I'm off to read season two...
I really enjoyed Yesterday's Gone...for about 300 pages. The writing was very good and the editing was top notch. The only problem was the story started dragging and while it wasn't repetitious, it became tedious to read. While a well written cliff hanger is interesting and compels a person to continue reading, after 300 pages (a little more than half way through season 1) with no answers and more and more questions, I began to become disenchanted and really wanted at least some resolution to some of the issues that came up. I really don't want to spoil it for other readers that may be interested in enduring the story all the way through season 6? so I won't disclose any details, but questions continued to arise with no resolution to the first question that anyone would have ...where did all the people go?
